Roon Server Machine
Synology DS1821+ 32GB Ram and 500gb SSD M.2 for Cache
Finally moved from my Nucleus + across to my new Synology DS1821+ and want to understand how to set up SSD Cache for Roon.
I have the Cache set up on a stick of 500gb SSD, do I need to move my Roon database from my current Volume 1 HDD across to the SSD Cache?
Any help would be appreciated.

This thread might be of interest to you:
I run Roon on my Syno DS1520+ and I could install a SSD cache memory module.
Is it feasible to keep the Roon database then in this SSD cache? Or does the database needs to be on one of the 5 disk bays I have?

If you have it set up as cache than it is just that, a cache, and you can’t (explicitly) move anything to it. Synology will pull everything frequently accessed in there itself though. If you have it set up as a regular storage volume, then yes, you may want to move Roon’s database there.
Note: to get full benefit of a read AND write cacheing, you need 2 sticks.

Once you have both sticks, run the ssd cache advisor. It takes 7 days to complete, but will give you good idea on what size of volume to create.
