FYI you can map those buttons to Roons built in key shortcuts with Logitech app.

Good news. I had forward / back mapped to trackpad swipes on my Macs via BetterTouchTool for years, but these work smoothly.

Here’s how I have it set up. Note the Roon icon in the upper right corner and the back/forth buttons.
