Currently, the Signal Process Map pop-up in the Now Playing view is not sized or formatted to accommodate the filter, shaping and upsampling processing being done by HQPlayer. If you are using HQP - as roon facilitates - you can never see the complete list of sound shaping and upsampling that is being processed. The pop-up window is either not wide enuff or tall enuff (add more lines) to do this. As a result, HQPlayer users can never see, for example, what level of DSD upsampling is being processed. The line that should display that info is truncated, cut-off - preventing it from showing.
I find this increasingly frustrating, as I’m sure do most HQP users. Please consider reformatting the signal process pop-up window to display all of the processing being done by HQPlayer.
@desbiss - Thanks, for reaching out. I’m hoping roon support will acknowledge the request several people have made to make the minor change needed so the Audio Path window works as it should with HQP. It’s a fix rather than a feature request, but no one in support has ever reached out. With so many people using roon’s HQP feature, it’s surprising it’s not yet fixed. But I still hold out hope!
Thx for sharing the link. Very glad to see roon has engaged, and is still responsive to your inquiries. Thank you for proving them with requested info, and bringing it to light in the first place. It’s seemingly a little thing, but as you discovered, provides productive information.
Just wondering if you’ve heard any more from roon about fixing the signal path window so it can accommodate longer hqplayer filter and modulator names?
I was very happy to see the fix in place! Icing on the cake was that the full signal path is also visible now on my iPhone. I hadn’t expected that to be something that could be resolved…
