To make things easier to address the issues discussed in this topic, I’d like to be able to export all my performers, please - there being (as far as I can see?) no way to Page Up/Down, or even quickly/easily scroll the Performers field of Focus.
So (how?) can I export my list of performers, please: like the vast majority of users, I’m sure, I have a lot!
Indeed. So does my mouse on macOS. But there are snags:
there’s no indication from a scroll bar of how far down that list of performers you are
although they’re in a kind of alphabetical order, chunks are repeated… you get to the end of 'Z’s and the list begins again at ‘A’
similarly, when you click on one (in my case, thankfully, a small number) of any potential errant entries to correct it, you have to re-enter the list at the very top.
It would be useful, I think - if for no other reason than to be able to have an overview (say in a text editor or spreadsheet), identify all potential Composers who are not Performers (Vivaldi pops up in one of mine!) and plan all corrections ahead. I have 780 Artists.
Makes sense. More, probably… it ‘started’ from ‘A’ at least three times before I suspended the work until I can find a better way of coming at all names
Nope, just two, that gives rise to a sequence such as:
n (A-Z)
n - 1 (A-Z)
n - 2 (A-Z)
n - 3 (A-Z)
…
Look at this example where n is 22 - and also note that the names are sorted alphabetically by first name (?!) despite my having set up browser sort preference for sorting on last name:
I have no reason to suspect that there are composers who have illicitly (Britten would be an obvious example of a correct such attribution) acquired an Artists/Performers tag.
But I’m constantly tidying and (I hope) ‘tightening’ my data in Roon.
Maybe there’s a way to get at Artists/Performers via a copy of the raw database?
