Fake 24/96 or not?

Do you know for certain that it’s “fake” and not mastered at 96/24 from the DAC output of the 1x sample rate mix? This is, for example, Emily Lazar’s workflow, her clients including Coldplay… Such masters will (obviously) not have much if any content above the 1x Nyquist.

Yeh I’m pretty sure selling and streaming this one as 24/96 was unnecessary… 24/48 would have been sufficient.

There’s nothing above 24kHz (48kHz sample rate).

I realize that, but my point is that the master might have been 24/96. Or it might have been a gratuitous up-sample…
