Profiles have never offered separate libraries nor playlists.

I thought Playlists were not shared until 2.0.30? There was quite some discussion about this change back then:

We’ve also expanded access to family playlists. If multiple listeners in your household make playlists, Roon’s new playlist folder functionality will automatically make them available to everyone. No more searching for a favorite playlist in a different profile.

Granted, that’s not exactly “the latest update”.
