One reason I am interested in a test with this device is that it plays to the weaknesses in my 80 year old ears. I have lost some, maybe a lot, of my higher frequency hearing, replaced by harshness and digital hash. Plusmy ability to hear vocals is not what it used to be. I. can’t seem to fix this with the EQ available in the Roon app.
This DAC appears to dampen the highs and raise the vocals. That would be a true game changer for me.
I canceled my first order to zero in on a Special Edition (Black) of my trusty CXA 81MkII integrated amp. This was a limited run, and I scored #0002. Now, with that paid for, I have reordered the Warmer with a June 8 to June 30 delivery. Looking forward to it.

I’m very happy to have found this forum. I recently set up my Roon system and integrated the FiiO R2R DAC.
My current signal chain is: Mac Mini —> FiiO R2R —> Marantz PM-KI Ruby —> B&W 805S
I deliberately avoided the typical “all-in-one” digital streamers. My philosophy is that the digital transport and DSP tasks should be handled by a powerful computer, so I’ve entrusted that part to a Mac Mini running Roon Core. To me, the most critical part of the chain—digital-to-analog conversion and analog amplification—is where the investment should truly go.
I am quite satisfied with the FiiO R2R, especially with the NOS (Non-Over-Sampling) mode engaged. The Czech-made vacuum tubes definitely add a lovely, warm character to the sound.
If FiiO ever releases a “Pro” version of this DAC, I will certainly be the first in line to buy it.
yeah one more happy camper with R2R Warmer. Roon (WIndows 11)>Eversolo DMP A6>USB>R2R Warmer>Yamaha RX483 ‘direct’ mode). I know, RX-483 is the weakest link but ‘direct’ is sounding nice so no need to spend $$ on another amplifier. Mush better sounding than Eversolo sigma-delta DAC!
Which model of Mac mini are you running. I loved my 2018, until whichever upgrade made holding my playback zones became a real problem. I went to a Nucleus One, and I have had zero problems since. Warmer Dac due on the 17th.
