Just installed ARC early access build 222 on Amazon Fire HD 10+ tablet , which until now had the latest production version running without issue. Build 222 only shows the startup ‘ARC - roon arc’ screen and immediately terminates.
Tried both app store update and apk download, same behaviour.
(ARC production build 212 still runs ok on reinstall, and appears happy to connect to updated early access Roon Server)
Hi, @ToneDeaf, an update here. We discovered that we might be having a compatibility problem on Android 9 devices. As far as I understand, Amazon Fire HD 10+ is Android 9-based, so you might be experiencing the same problem. At the moment our dev team is looking into this issue.
I saw some other posts regarding Android 9 issues and started wondering! Word in the street is that the Amazon’s fork for the HD10+ is unlikely to ever move beyond something based on Android 9 , so it would be super useful if still supported for a while.
Thanks Michael. I can confirm that the Android 9 work done for build 223 now allows it to install on the fork for my Amazon Fire HD10+.
It’s fully functional it seems, but I do note some really jarring ‘flashing’ in the ‘genres for you’ boxes on the home screen - see attached link to video for an example - when landing on the page or scrolling.
I only get this for the Genres for you section on the home screen, and e.g. not when tapping through to Genres.
(Currently I use Roon without a streaming service activated so the home screen has only a limited number of sections. Perhaps similar issues could occur with additional home screen content rendered when streaming)
