Frustration with iPad connection - deleting & reinstalling the APP

Everything seemed in order - iPad set up correctly, Roon set up correctly, the router recognised the iPad, the net connected OK BUT Roon refused to connect. Firewall in this PC turned off - still no joy. The iPad refused to connect to Roon.

In the end the only “cure” was to delete and then re-install the APP.

Surely this should not be necessary? Or is it something we should routinely do when there is an upgrade to the iPad software?
