Hi Kevin do you mind me asking for the reason for sale, being so new when you were selling it.
Looks to be a an excellent DAC and very well reviewed from what I remember.

Hi Michael.

I have become a bit of a Quad fan boy in the last year or so. I am just about to buy the new Quad Platina streamer next week to match up with my Quad 33/303 pre and power amps. The streamer is costing £3k and would be financially out of reach (what with Xmas coming up as well ) so I’m basically just balancing the books and whatever I can pull in for the MF Dac will bring down the overall cost of the Quad streamer.

Well good luck with that plan, I can see why you might want to do that. Funnily enough I was also lusting after the mew Platina Amplifier after reading a few articles about it, but it is also currently out of my price range so I would have to wait a bit.

I was thinking of buying a Cyan 2 DAC or Harmony UDAC in a couple of months, but not sure if I would need either of those with the Platina in house though both would probably help it become even better, as would your DAC. Though I would struggle to fit the MF in my rack due to space issues

Yeah the MF Dac is a big unit, but not overly so. It’s beautifully built with lots of connection choices for whoever needs that kind of option.
Price wise I think I’m asking a fair enough amount for a 7 month old DAC that costs £2100 new and in immaculate condition, but I would be willing to be flexible.
Not as flexible as a potential buyer on ebay wanted me to be yesterday though. He offered £950 and seemed to think he was doing me a favour. Cheeky so and so lol.

Sadly I just measured the space on my rack and there is no way the Platina and MF will fit on there. It’s part of why I was looking at the DACS I was.
I am reading the manual now and I read a couple of reviews with the thought of making you an offer, but sadly I can’t make it fit.
Good luck selling that as someone is going to get a beautiful device at a great price.

Cheers Michael, pity about the size issue. I know I’ll sell it at a decent price because its a well rated piece of kit. It’s just a matter of timing, one sold the other week there on Ebay so my timing was just out lol.
