I fell out of love with headphone listening a long time ago, I’m afraid, so I’m selling most of my rig

First up are my HD800. They have had very little use and are in superb condition apart from one small scratch which I caused when I changed the cables over (please see photographs).

The pads were compressed so I’ve fitted a pair of Dekoni fenestrated Sheepskin replacements.

After fitting the pads I tried them on, put them back on the stand and that is where they have been ever since.

The headband is also in need of replacement; not from sitting on my head, but from sitting on an Omega stand! There are original replacement bands out there for about £25 and I saw some nice ones to match the Dekonis for about the same money, so I thought I’d let the buyer fit their preference.

The stock cable has been replaced with a 4.5m Cardas alternative.

All original packaging, documentation, frequency analysis certificate etc. are included as are the stock cables. Stand not included.

I’m a bit rusty with the selling game, so if I’ve missed anything, or there are other photo’s you’d like to see, please hit me up.

I’m looking for somewhere in the region of £700. Shipping to be arranged. I prefer UK sales only, please.

Coming up soon, when I’ve had time to photograph it and get the box out of the loft, is a very clean Auralic Taurus Mkll headphone amp.

Just a comment, the bit of paint that is missing is a well known Sennheiser HD800 fault

Mine are 10 yrs old and almost bald in places but that doesn’t stop the sound from being wonderful.

I had mine checked out by our local agent who gave them a clean bill of health after 10 yrs of virtually daily use (I am 100%) headphones.

The scratch was caused when I swapped the cables over. The rest of the paint is fine.
Where the scratch is, you can see that the paint is not very thick, so I’m not surprised that it wears with use.

Since beta testing roon and using their headphone equalisation in Muse, I have decided to keep these as the new, model specific (even down to the fenestrated sheepskin pads) EQ presets make a huge difference to sound quality.

I’m glad I’ve decided to keep them. I’ve just ordered a headband to match the fenestrated pads.
Have you tried any of the headphone EQs In Muse yet?

Not yet , I tend to avoid early access, but I will when it goes for real. I have 3 pairs to play with

There are three presets for the Focal Clear Mg and three for the Hi Fi Arya Stealth magnet version.

There is even a preset for my Denon AH-D5000 with J Money replacement leather pads!

I think you’ll have loads to play with in the official release.

I use the Oratory1990 preset for the Clear Mg’s already, just manually added to the parametric EQ in muse and it makes a huge difference to these headphones IMO.

I use them daily for evening listening with my Fiio K9Pro AKM DAC/Amp fed by a WiiM Pro Plus via WiFi.
Pretty much any genre of well recorded, produced music sounds amazing.

I agree I am currently leaning to the Focal, I use a Naim Uniti Atom HE which apparently is a “perfect “ match :sunglasses:
