I’m have my music biblio imported to Roon. It contains a fine collection of music magazin samplers, like wire tapper, Spex, etc. and my purchases. As streaming service I choose Qobus, because they have a lot of classic, jazz and exotic.
Now I miss the playlist/ my radio generated by Apple music. It feels like the Apple algorithm combines better what I have have and like. Serve my taste, surprise me. When it has a miss, I could say "less like that " during playback besides the like, very good functions
Any thought how to train the playlist algorithm on Roon?
As i see it, there are two ways.
Firstly, Roon needs to value and improve the algorithm by taking into account users “like/don’t like”.
And secondly, Roon need to improve (greatly) the automatic indentifying and classifying of our music. Genres mainly i believe.
As an example, yesterday i played Ana Diaz album Tröst och Vatten, an album by a swedish artist, in broad strokes a popular music sample, somewhat soulish and a bit indie.
After the album was played Roon Radio continued with some really strange selections, from genres as diverse as “comedy”, “soft ballads”, “Hard rock” etc. All (almost) were swedish derived though.
I will give it that most choices were suitable, and i have set Roon Radio to only play from my library though.
