When I use the genre tag to browse music, I notice this tag isn’t made for searching classical music. There are no time periods, like early renaissance or late baroque. I also would like to search on e.g. early baroque opera, new complexity or finnish romanticism. I think these genres and subgenres don’t exist in Tidal or Qobuz either. Is there a chance Roon will add more (sub)genres that are more suited to search classical music?
+1, but no, I wouldn’t expect it any time soon if at all. If I understand this correctly, Roon retrieves its genres from Rovi (same source allmusic.com uses) and they are crap when it comes to classical music. Roon does not and will not ‘add’ anything themselves on top of this.
