HDMI connection to Marantz AVR creates random computer noises (ref#GYL241)

Hi @mc_camerano,

The electrical environment supporting your Roon equipment is outside our capacity to assist here. I strongly recommend you consult your electrician. If the web administration page of the Nucleus One demonstrates a hardware problem, we can certainly investigate and offer more granular assistance.

But by all indications in this thread, there is variation in ground reference potential in your audio chain, caused by irregular wiring or malfunctioning internal electrical components in a powered device outside the Nucleus One. We can’t solve that in this thread.

We can also verify the Nucleus isn’t reporting any damage at the BIOS level. Please connect the HDMI output of the Nucleus One to a display directly, instead of a digital receiver. This will output a hardware diagnostics report to the screen. Share a photo here at your convenience.

If you had a spare power brick of compatible specification as that of the Nucleus One - many laptops have - you could test if that‘s causing the problem.

And while you‘re at it, why not unplug and completely remove everything else besides just the N1 connected to the Marantz.
