BUT that’s still an awful lot to drop on a pair of headphones…

Recently I bought the Focal Bathys. This one I use daily. When I travel, late night in bed. In the office. It is very versatile. The Utopia would just be used sometimes in the office.
There is definitely some difference between the two, but is it really worth it?
And I want to buy the new Esoteric CD player, which I do not need neither.
Actually a stupid question after spending some 10k for speakers. 
And I found out that parental advisories completely miss in this forum.

I recommend you try some Abyss Diana hp in comparison before you buy the Focal. They have quite different presentation and you may like Abyss better. I certainly do. At this price point comparison is a good thing to do. Enjoy.
PS when I bought my Diana V2 I was set to buy the Meze Empyrean. At the dealer I first listened to Meze, then the Utopia and then ZMF Verite. Non I found really compelling and I was a bit bummed. At the time I had a Grado. Then I found the abyss on a different table and listened to Grit de Geyters fantastic album Stille Klagen. I was blown away. My wow moment in headphone audio. Just saying

LOL, so try looking at Stax earspeakers, $6500 for the latest earspeakers (SR-9000X) and anywhere from $1500-$6000+ for the energizer to drive them.
