Hi, I’m new to Roon and have a question.
Is there a way to like tracks or artist or album without adding to the library? Target from my side is to support the algorithm to improve Roon radio and suggestions to learn more about my taste.
No, that’s not possible.
There are a few feature suggestions on the possibility to add stuff to a “quarantine” such as “Music tips from friends not yet ready to add to library”.
But your use case seems different. Why wouldn’t you add them to your library, is my immediate question?
my point is to have a library of most favourite albums and tracks and not of everything that is ok. I believe a simple like and dislike function by track/album/artist would help tp improve the algorithm dramatically. Some tracks I like in the radio and some not…some new releases I like pretty ok, but not enough to add them to the library…some I don’t like at all… simple radio buttons would be perfect.
Tracks played by Roon Radio don’t have to be in the library. If you skip a track, Roon Radio asks you why you did that. Presumably, if you don’t skip a track it will assume that it didn’t offend you.
If I skip in Roon radio a track, never noticed some kind of question why or option for classifying a reason. I’m using 99% Android based hardware for Roon, means a mobile or tablet based on Android with the Roon remote app.
I previouly used the Windows and Android tablet remotes, now macOS and iPad, and I always get it there. macOS:
I just tried it with my Android phone, which I rarely use for Roon, and apparently it doesn’t come up there
Feel free to initiate a feature request? I don’t see the need but i’m sure others will. ![]()
There are always at least as many use cases as subscribers to this service!
