Question - I am running a PS Audio Stellar Dac, via coax which only handles PCM, should I set the Red OS Roon setting for PCM or Native? Thanks.
If you are talking about DSD, keep in mind that the Stellar DAC uses an ESS chip which converts DSD to a multi-bit stream, it doesn’t play native 1 bit DSD.
Sorry for my lack of understanding of the tech. Based on your reply is it best to set Red OS app to PCM as that is what Stellar DAC can handle via coax?
What is your goal? What files are you wanting to play? And why the Holo Red?
My comment was not a recommendation of any kind, but, an informational comment to help you decide what you want to do. The questions above would help me give a suggestion based on knowing what you want to do, hope to achieve, etc
It would make sense to set Holo Audio Red to output PCM under it’s “Roon Ready” configuration. You could also make the change under the Roon zone config, but to me it makes more sense to configure that as close to the DAC as possible.
