I used to be able to add and also remove tags from an album while I was looking at the album’s page. Now that I installed 1.8, I can add an album to a tag, but I can’t find any way to remove a tag from an album. I figured out that if I go to Tags, I can remove that album from that tag. But I want to be able to change the album’s tags while I’m interfacing with that album, not by going somewhere else.
By the way, I don’t wan’t to complain, but approaching tagging by thinking of adding an album to a tag seems backward to me. I think in terms of adding tags to albums…
I have joked about this before, but it looks more and more to me that roon developers are paid by the user clicks, hence the always increasing number of (no necessary) clicks!
Thanks, I already discovered that method. If this is what the developers think is a good way to achieve this then I hope we can convince them otherwise. That absolutely sucks.
I have to agree, I have used temporary tags while checking albums out for a long time. This is no longer an option now that their removal has become so “complicated.”
This is a real step back. There are multiple issues like this one in 1.8. Looks like a rushed, not thoroughly tested update. Don’t they have beta testers for that?
It’s just insane , I’m so disappointed by this tag removing process :((( Tags is my way to navigate in my albums , I have my special themes and way of naming styles, etc … it sounds so stupid not to be able to add or remove a tag WHEN you are ON the album !
I did it with my iMac.
Go to the tag view of the tag you want to remove from your album and find and right-click the album in question
This gets you the album selected and at the top of the screen you get the actions for the selected items. There you click the circle with the 3 dots and you finally see the list containing “remove tag”
With new update click on 3 dots and add to tag. You can add/remove as many tags as you want. Nice and simple, and you can do many tag changes in one go, easier than 1.7.
