How do I kill an album re-scan operation that WILL NOT STOP?

Selected fewer than 10 albums for re-scan under Album Edit panel. Scan stuck with no progress, after more than 12 hours. Never-ending spinner. No obvious way to stop/restart re-scan. Previously worked fine. Core and Library both on iMac hard drive. Nucleus attached via Ethernet.

Hello @Charles_Craiglow, and welcome to the community! Could you please post a screenshot of the scan?

Also, is the Nucleus your core or the mac?

Sorry, as a new user I somehow managed to create two separate posts for this problem. I closed the other version on Saturday. Short story - after nearly 24 hours of the spinning “re-scan”, the desktop app crashed. Upon relaunching the app, the problem had disappeared. I put back albums which I had previously removed from the library and I suspected of causing the re-scan issue, at which point Roon automatically re-scanned them and recreated their metadata without a problem. So, it’s an unsolved mystery. But I’ll close this problem report. Appreciate the follow-up. Thanks.
