How long for ROCK to 'see' CD Rips?

Yep @Menzies did that recently with his entire library ripped via Rock.

Yep, works a treat. So although ripping with Rock isn’t seen the preferred way, it can be done and exporting will add all the metadata.

A little long winded, but if you only have Rock and no other machine then it works.

I do think dbpoweramp is the better way though. There, said it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

@Rugby

Agreed. That’s exactly how I do it, and new rips appear immediately.

(This approach also creates a backup on that other computer.)

Always against the grain me :wink:

Have they improved the speed of the export function?
Last time i tried an export i fell asleep waiting and had forgotten i started it when i woke up… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

No idea - I’ve only played with it. Never had a reason to use it in earnest…

I did an export last night as a means of backup and it was slower than a USB 3.0 SSD to USB 3.0 SSD.

YMMV

If it helps, I used Roon to rip 70+ CDs. Process was quick. However, I used MP3Tag to ensure the CD files/folder was recognised and added the meta data. Or, you’ll just have blank files and folders and you won’t know what each folder album is.

I’ve now moved to XLD on MACOS, as you can recognise the CD and rip it with all the meta data. Then you simply move the files over to the music folder. In my case it’s the external usb drive on the Nuc.
