Describe the issue

Hello, I would like to know if my streamer Cambridge CNX V2 can access my second remote hi-fi system equipped with a Roon server via the Roon Arc application. I specify that the Roon ARC application is installed on a Samsung tablet under Android. My goal is to listen on the CNX V2 to the music coming from my Roon server remotely via the Roon ARC application. If it is possible, please explain to me how to do it. Kind regards. Stéphane

Describe your network setup

System Witherspoon Roon: Sotm system - switch netgear - roon installed on a nuc with rock - Switch linked to the fiber box . Remote installation : cambridge cnx v2 - netgear switch

No it can’t. Arc is a remote app for playback of your material on Roon server on the device ARC is installed on. If your using an iPhone then you can use the phones system Airplay to play to the streamer, but the phone is essentially pulling it all and airplay to the CXN it can’t hand off to the streamer so will drain your battery quite a lot .

Connect the tablet via ChromeCast to the CXN V2 should work, right?

Not sure arc works that well over Chromecast.

Another possible option is to connect the tablet’s USB connection to a USB-to-TOSLINK or USB-to-SPDIF converter (probably with a powered USB connection or the converter being powered). I am an Apple user and can use this setup, but not sure if Android will connect or stay limited to 48 kHz sampling rates in this configuration.

Examples include a FiiO K3 or Topping D10, both of which I use and are powered. I also have used Emotiva’s Big Ego (either original or Plus version) to perform a USB to TOSLINK conversion, but the phone needs to have power connected (using Apple’s Camera Connection Kit).
