I have to send my music server which hosts Roon Server in for repairs. Meanwhile, I thought I’d create a Roon Server for temporary use on one of my Mac Minis, but that attempt failed with a fatal error.
Then I accidentally created a Roon server on my desktop, which I definitely do not want!
I’d like to delete them both, but Roon insists on making me choose between the busted Roon Server on the Mac Mini and Roon Server on my desktop.
How do I restore things to zero, i.e. delete both servers?
You need to connect into a RoonServer, then go to Settings / General and click the LOGOUT button (right next to the blue “View Account Info” button. This will remove the server from the list.
right. it was clickable. after logging in i followed the instructions you gave and the result was exactly what i started with (see my initial message.) it’s probably harmless. when my music server returns from repair i’ll see if i can connect to it (now that i’ve de-authorized it).
i just don’t understand why it’s not possible to delete the two servers listed in above.
It will never be zero unless you’ve never logged into Roon and don’t have a server running. There will always be the server you are using listed here, even if you are logged into it. So, if you are currently using This Mac as your RoonServer, it will be on this list.
If you are not using This Mac as a server, then the steps I laid out earlier will work to remove it from the list leaving only the server out for repair which is obviously not reachable.
i eliminated the broken server on the remote machine by deleting all Roon folders (Roon, Roon Server) from the Library. so that one no longer shows up. but the same trick fails to work for the server on my desktop. attempting to Login on that one just hangs with the popup “Logging in …”
