How to play only live albums from a certain artist or playlist

Bruce Spingsteen is in the Netherlands, and I would like to play only his live songs. I’m sure it’s easy to select, because there is a tag “live” in Roon, but untill now I didn’t succeed. Anyone ideas?

I selected Bruce Springsteen, set filter on “live”. Result is I see all his live albums. But when I push the big blue " start play" button, it starts with all his songs and not only his live albums.

Hi Fulco,
You will have to select all albums in your focus, and then click play on the top menu. On a tablet, you can select an album by pressing on it for a little while. Then on the top left there is an option to select them all. Next to it is the play button that is dedicated to this selection.
Notice that I filtered on the word ‘live’ in the album titles in his discography.

Excellent Arlen, this works! I was’t aware that I could select multiple albums. I’ve made a selection in the live albums and 636 numbers are in my que. Happy sunday.

FYI…

On PC and Mac:

You can make a long left click or right click on an item (like track, album, …). Top left, a selection menu will appear where you can choose Select All. Or use shortcuts, Ctrl+A on PC or Cmd+A on Mac.

To select multiple individual items, start the selection with a long left click or right click, then click additional items to add to the selection.

To select a range:

  1. Select the first item from the range with a right mouse click (or long left click)
  2. Press and hold the Shift key
  3. Left- or right-click the last artist in the range you want to select

This selects the whole range. You can deselect individual item from the selected range by clicking them again.

You can also select 2 or more individual ranges together:

  1. Right-click the first artist in the first range
  2. Press and hold Shift
  3. Left- or right-click the last artist in the first range you want to select. (The first range is now selected)
  4. Release the Shift key
  5. Left- or right-click the first artist in the second range you want to select
  6. Press and hold Shift
  7. Left- or right-click the last artist in the second range you want to select. (The first and second ranges are now selected)

On mobile remotes, use tap-and-hold to start a multi-selection. There is no range selection option, but you can tap items to add to the selection.

Thanks Suedkiez, great addition. This makes is even more easy to select the right albums/songs. Every week I get an email from Roon with tips, but I haven’t seen these (now at tip 21/100). These thips are really usefull!

Glad it helps. To add: A third way to start multi-selection on PC/Mac is to press Ctrl and then make a short left click (if you prefer that to a long left click or right click. This then very similar to how all multi-selection works on PC everywhere)
