How to set up a Raspberry PI stand alone for music

Thnx I’m fine with native DSD…not interested in upsampling at all.
Btw…just received my Pi4 and it sounds really good.

I know the video, but its for streaming. I want to connect a music library (flac) from a HD to a raspberry Pi, install Roon core on the RPi, connect my DAC to teh RPi and Teh DAC to my amp.

But I am told, that will not go.

That’s the route i was hoping to go down - did you find a solution to this? A streamer, PLUS a server to house the core is now adding up to be quite an expensive venture!
