Is there a way to suppress albums in my library from being selected in Daily Mix? I have a bunch of DTS albums that play back as white noise. I previously solved the problem of having these selected by Roon Radio using a track tag, but these still get selected by Daily Mix. If I ban these albums will that work, and if so, does banning the DTS version in my library ban ALL versions of the album?
I forget offhand if banning a performer/album/track will lead to it being blocked from mixes but if it isn’t it’s an oversight.
Feel free to start banning now. I’ve got some work on Mixes in the pipe so expect that it will filter on bans in the near future.
Thanks for the response. For clarity, if I ban, for example the DTS version of Beatles Rubber Soul in my library, would that result in a ban of ALL versions of Rubber Soul, or just the specific album banned? I still want Roon to continue to be able to select the normal version of the album in my library. Many thanks!
Oh I had missed this detail here. Unfortunately for the recommendations the way that bans works is generally that all versions will be grouped together for the purposes of bans.
I see what you’re looking for - to ban a specific version of an album for playback for mixes. I’m not sure about this one.
I am not sure banning is total answer. For example, holiday or spoken genre exclusion - it may already do that?
what if you store all of them in a different location, and only enable that location when you want to hear them? Is that anything?
(I’ve done this for christmas albums.)
Yeah, I may need to look at that kind of approach. I wasn’t using the daily playlists much originally, so this wasn’t an issue. Lately, I’ve been using them, and it’s amazing how frequently the troublesome versions get picked! Just my luck!
