HQ Player trial license for Sonictransporter + Roon

Do I need to pay for the license to start the trial? Or where do I get a trial license?

It seems to me that I have everything configured in Roon, but I get “Roon couldn’t connect to HQ player” error.

It should work for 30 min without license.

In Roon Settings → Setup → Add HQplayer → localhost (or address of the machine)

Then in Roon Settings → Audio enable HQPlayer

Roon → Select it as output…

In HQPlayer
What is your DAC? You have it set-up for NAA… what’s your NAA endpoint? Does it show the DAC under network (bottom of that page).

Not sure about DAC, but it does show my streamer at the bottom of that page

It says SU-6 so HQPlayer looks to be setup correctly.

I just noticed you’ve got HQPlayer 4 installed. You’ll want to install 5.

I’d go back to Roon Settings and add HQplayer again… if “localhost” isn’t working you can try 127.0.0.1

That assumes HQPlayer and Roon are on the same machine

HQPlayer 5 isn’t yet publicly available for Sonicorbiter devices. Contact the manufacturer for instructions on how to upgrade.

Also, be aware that you will have to reboot your machine first. Then HQ Player will work for 30 minutes, in trial mode.

Yes, it is as I am running it. You need OS2.9 to be installed on the sT.

Cheers,

How did you do the upgrade?

Contact Andrew @ SGC and he will do it. You have to send the unit into him to do the upgrade. If you want you can wait for it to be available via download, but that might be a while.
