HQP filter or settings for POP music.

And forget “Two Steps from Hell” !!! Hahaha (it’s a joke) If you really want epic, get hold of this - Also sprach Zarathustra by Richard Georg Strauss from1896 !!! Note the dynamic range, not bad for von Karajan, huh!? (BTW, this version is a very clean recording, sounds awesome)

HouseCurve developer mentioned that iPhone mics are not bad, but equally these are not calibrated mics. I think he mentions this in his help files, but look at this forum as well.

Once you are comfortable with measuring concept, measure with Sub. Problem with subs (if we go into details) is the size and weight of their speakers. They are slower and heavier than twitters. Effectively they react later. It is milliseconds but the side effect of it is a bit of a phase shift… well will you notice or not is another question. The other point is to select a good cross over frequency, that is to mute your shelf speakers at certain frequency and let the sub take over. If not overengeneering your shelf speakers start at 58Hz, so I’d think 60 Hz is OK cross over. But if you want a kick or a punch you need to raise sub to higher freqs and cut the shelf speakers on those accordingly. And thirdly you dont want sub too louder than your speakers, it just may kill the sound, good for movies may be, but not for music

I like TSFH because I find the music so action fast it gives me energy while working and exercising. The orchestra puts me to sleep because it’s such a slow dragging melody. I prefer to listen to such more brisk and faster recordings. I don’t listen to classical music or opera. TSFH I enjoy because it’s orechester but it’s also fast and there are drums which Unfortunately get lost in the mixing.

So I did the measurements. These graphs came out. Can you comment on this? Now that I have imported it into Roon, the house curve has automatically adjusted it to the correct values?

I was doing some config work for another combo but thought I’d mention:

Sinc-M and ASDM7EC-super is really a nice combo I think would work well for pop music.
