HQPlayer 5.11.1 Not Responding and running super slow

Whenever I open HQPlayer it takes forever to load and the screen of the application is blank for around 30 seconds.

Once it loads, as soon as i click on the screen to select on option, it freezes and says (not responding)

Eventually it will allow me to click an option. But as soon as i close the window of the pop up screen of the tab i just opened, it will say (not responding ) again.

I cannot close the application normally either. When I go to click the ‘X’ button it says (not responding )

Anyone know a fix for this? I have reinstalled the app, reactivated my license key, restarted pc, etc.

I did not have this problem with HQPlayer 4.

Three main items to check:

  1. Your input backend is set to “[none]” unless you use the feature
  2. Your filter choice is not something particularly heavy to initialize
  3. Playlist contents are not something that takes long time to access
