Does anyone who’s a serious HQPlayer user want to help me with testing? Just started on this, but it’s very fun and simple vs other options out there. Lightweight docker deploy, allows you to manually configure or discover your HQPlayer instance, pick filters, modulator, and change mode/rate.
I personally have gotten really tired of the core desktop controller that was shipped and the various iOS versions folks have released paid. Mine’ll be MIT open source fo sho.
As with everything these days where you use Claude Code, it was, um fast. But I think it’s simple enough that even a non-dev like me can make it reasonably secure for an “only on your network” app. And dear lord why would you allow access for something like this off your network if you only listen to HQPlayer music while you’re by definition on your physical network. I think.
Anyhoo, let me know if interested in playing with it - I’m not a dev, so not sure what I haven’t thought of! Haven’t added music browsing / services etc yet - because I don’t use them, I use Roon, or the phenomenal MusicD. But it obviously wouldn’t be hard.
