I have Room Server [2.0 (build 1478) earlyaccess] installed on my sonicTransporter i7 [running OS v2.7]. However, it now seems to be refusing to update past build 1478. I am prompted to update and I see the progress bar. Sometimes there is no progress at all until it times out with an error. Other times it seems to download quickly until 20% - 30% before it suddenly freezes.
To my knowledge, nothing has changed on the sT or related to my internet or network.
The st (Roon Server) is connected via ethernet to an all Unifi network, wired all the way to the Unifi router and ISP modem. Again, nothing has changed recently on any of these.
I have tried all the following. Same results.
Triggering the update from my Mac and iPhone.
Restarting the sT (including a power cycle)
Checking for software updates on the sT (oddly, this process is taking longer than usual – this might be a clue. I’ll reach out to their support as well)
Restarting the Unifi switches and router
Note that all other Roon client apps have successfully updated without issue.
Ok odd development. In sT’s control panel interface, I went to Settings > Roon Server Settings and:
Enabled “Local Playback” and “Expose Roon Database” then saved changes (which also restarts Roon Server.
Disabled and saved the same two settings above.
When I next opened the Roon application and went to Settings > About, it now showed that Roon Server is on the latest version (2.0 (build 1484) earlyaccess).
So perhaps one step forward.
And here come the two steps back! Roon’s Settings > About now show that there is a new version of Roon (version 2.0 (build 1484) production) which now fails to even start downloading.
I have been running Roon for many years very reliably, so this is very out of character. The only new change on my Mac is that I recently upgraded to macOS 15 (15.1.1), so that might be a factor in how the Roon Application works on Mac. Before anyone asks, I have disabled VPN, firewall, and Private Wi-Fi address on my Mac.
