I bid you adieu [perhaps we meet again]

The solution is simple as described before: „Use file“ should ignore any metadate provided by Roon or their high quality data providers.

Hi Dirk

I don’t object to your statement, but as a side note, I have tried to communicate some of my issues and problems with Roon over the last 5 years with patience and in a formal manner and still see no progress. In some cases I don’t get even an answer to my questions by the Roon guys. So communicating differently does not necessary lead to success either.
It is how it is, though, and I, for myself, accept that some things won’t ever be adressed. Still the frustration surfaces from time to time. I can understand why others use a different way of communicating.

But I also want to respect the OP’s wish to stay on topic, so we should probably use another thread to discuss this…

Sorry to venture off-topic. I did not want to highjack @Thomas_Nielsen’s thread

What’s Minim Server 2 , it not expensive but not free

https://minimworld.com/purchase-license.html

This site is more infomative:
https://minimserver.com/

Boy, that web site must have been created by someone whom did IT in 1970.

Really, someone should just revive (even though it’s still going) Squeezebox Media Server / LMS. It’s open source now AFAIK, it has everything everyone needs except a nice GUI, which has to be the easiest thing in the whole stack to create. Doesn’t do metadata, but someone could link it up to the open data ones.

If I was a developer, that’s what I’d do. There’s even a stack of hardware and open players out there. AND it’s a Roon endpoint.

Anyway, I’m not saying leave Roon, just saying if you are and am a developer…
