FYI in case someone wants to run Roon on Linux Mint 17.
It runs fine after using the easy installation script. I only ran into a few problems:
First run of the script failed - /opt/RoonServer did not get created.
Second run, I used bash -x to debug but it worked 2nd time around.
You get two copies of the extracted package. One in /opt/RoonServer and one in /opt. I just deleted the one in /opt.
Client connect hung on “Initializing” and was resolved after I rebooted the Server.
