I’m not sure @CrystalGipsy is directing his post at anyone in particular, and I do agree in part with him regarding networks being pointed at consistently as all route causes for dropouts. I believe it’s the first place to look after the signal path in Roon.
My only advice to any Roon user before posting on the forum with dropout issues is to read this
I also agree Roon need to move forward and investigate a solution to prevent lesser networks having these issues. A buffer is one way forward.
But wouldn’t a buffer be a step away from the purpose of RAAT
I also agree that the point @WiWavelength highlights with the OPs equipment. When the OPs temporary ban is up I hope he can inform Roon of his Roon Server specs, network equipment and endpoints.
May be worth pointing out that the OP has Ethernet to server and endpoints. This doesn’t mean that their Ethernet has no problems, but it looks like wifi is likely not the cause
20 endpoints? Then I presume you must have a hell of a processor in your Roon Core.
Have you tried to reduce to one or two endpoints in Roon (remove the other ones from Roon), and see if your problems are solved then?
Kind regards, Frank.
Does that also means that he cannot read any comments any more, or does this means that he cannot write anything anymore? I really don’t know what “temporarily banned” means to the OP. (Hope that I will never have to learn the hard way ).
Interesting, wrong category i think. Having read through the topic Roon “Staff” haven’t had any input. Maybe “Abusive” posts would be more appropriate…just sayin’
Some of the OP’s posts were abusive which resulted in the suspension. I moderate a network application community there’s only been one incident of abusive remarks (directed at a moderator) and that person was banned, permanently.
In this case the OP appears to have been been given a chance to reflect on how he presents his case…
The problem is that the Roon staffers and volunteer moderators overtly censor content in some posts and tacitly delete or hide from view other entire posts. Leaving up that content and those posts while still taking disciplinary action would be better because it would be more transparent moderation. And everyone could see for themselves the behaviors that resulted in suspensions or outright bans.
Yes I understand what happened but couldn’t see what deserved it other than frustration, it appears posts have been edited and I can’t see any indication or notice in the post of such moderation.
This highlights another flaw in having a public forum like this as the primary official support for a commercial product.
