Identifying Roon Input Source

Hi,

I’m using a Titan (excellent!) with my library (20k tracks which reside on the Titan), in combination with Tidal and Qobuz.

How can I determine if a track being played is one of mine, or sourced from Tidal or Qobuz?

Thank you…
Michael

Sounds easiest to click the signal path:

Thank you. I assume a yellow dot indicating AAC would be my resident tracks, and I see a blue star indicating FLAC with Quobuz. A question; my music is preponderant with one of 10-20 tracks being Qobuz a not a Tidal track to be found as I advance through the tracks. Obviously I prefer not to be stuck in my music and I subscribe to services in hopes of hearing new things which are algorithmically related to my tastes. Why is this not happening? Thanks.

No, the color depends on the file format. What I meant is that for Qobuz and Tidal the path starts with „Source: Qobuz“ or „Source: Tidal“. See the green highlight box that I made.

The colors are explained here:

In don’t understand, sorry. How are you playing these tracks and what exactly is happening?

Thank you. Typically I’ll shuffle a genre while I’m working;!classical or jazz most often.

Tidal and Qobuz are signed in. I have perhaps 5-6k tracks each in classical and jazz genre and my hope would be that Tidal and Qobuz would integrate into, and even dominate the shuffle.

Need in turn my library off… is there a way to do this… or is there a way to prompt the services to be more present?

I see. If you really mean Shuffle, it plays (shuffles) only tracks from your library, by definition.

I think what you might want is to „Start Radio“ (Roon Radio) from a genre, album, artist, or track:

Note that it is not always perfect and for some people tends to get stuck in a rut, maybe especially if you let it run for hours and hours. You will find lots of complaint threads on the forum. For me personally, it seems to be doing a good job (but I don’t use it all the time and for many hours per session, so maybe I just don’t notice when it starts to repeat itself).

Got it…thank you. I appreciate the help. Does radio mix in my library? Or is it only a stream of shuffled Tidal//Qobuz content? Any way to shuffle my library with Tidal/Qobuz? I was always under the impression that my listening habits drove the streaming selection algorithmically.

As explained in the FAQ provided by Suedkiez, Roon Radio (not to be confused with Live Radio) combines music from your library with music from your streaming services.
Do make sure that Roon Radio is not configured to be limited to your library only. This is explained in the same FAQ.

If you want to discover more music outside of your library, the Daily Mixes on Roon’s Home Screen could also be a good starting point. These are explained in the Roon Mastery Series, along with many other useful tips & tricks.
