Incomprehensible glitches

Running Roon on a Windows computer, I wasn’t surprised to encounter glitches, say one in 5 minutes. That was a good reason to buy a Nucleus One; Windows and time sensitive operations are not always a lucky combination.

But: I still encounter glitches, less, but they are still coming up, once in about 15 minutes.

When I play the music from the SSD in the Nucleus, I often disconnect this small piece of network from the internet (this gives about 3 feet more proximity to the stage). I thought now there would be no more glitches.

What to do?

NB. I generally don’t use sample rate conversion or other facilities of MUSE.
My streamer is a Roon Ready IFI Zen Streamer.
My DAC is part of the Hypex Fusion Amp 253 (conceptually the same as the Grimm LS1, which is designed to work with Roon).

(just another user here) That’s a Zen Stream problem. I own one, tried everything (factory reset, different wiring, different power brick, different firmware configs), nothing worked. I have a variety of other streamers, even basic Pi boxes, that work perfectly. I gave up on the Zen Stream.

You don’t describe your network ??? It sounds networky !!

How is the Nucleus connected to the router
How is the iFi connected ?

Some, if not all, of the later updates created this ongoing problem. I rolled [the iFi] back to V2.31.7 to eliminate the frequent dropouts. I have not experienced the problem since then.

Initially I thought it was a new DAC, then the network, etc. Load the above firmware and see if that doesn’t solve your issues.

Regards

Hello Mike,
Your suggestions appeared to be spot on.
I checked all network components, and one of them had a lousy and thus unpredictable connection/connector.
Problem solved, so far: no more glitches!
So there seem to be no software or hardware problems with the iFi nor the Nucleus One nor the Roon.
Thank you all for your attention.
