Integrate Radio stream metadata into Roon Library and Tidal for easy library add

Hi, I love Roon with my own music collection and Tidal.

However, I also listen to internet radio stations a lot, and most radio stations are sending metadata with song and artist and album info. (e.g. somafm.com)

I can see that Roon is picking up that metadata and displaying artist and song information as the radio station streams.

I would like to be able to select ‘add to library’ for song/artist or at least trigger a search within Tidal/my library by clicking on the metadata. I learn about new music a lot from streaming services, it would seem a logical way to bring that discovery into the Roon/Tidal universe easily.

thanks

It would be very nice to be able to do that or to have the history showing that information. It does not.

I just created my own integration for Poolsuite FM, which streams music from SoundCloud and wasn’t supported as a radio station in Roon until now. My implementation keeps a list of recently played songs, with links to SoundCloud, and it also passes through song and artist metadata into Roon. The songs & artists sometimes match with Tidal or Qobuz, though often there’s no match as the SoundCloud streams are not reliably in Tidal’s library.

I’m not sure if this helps you or not, but with the state of AI and Claude code, it’s pretty easy to vibe code these kinds of integrations now. Of course, that won’t solve the problem if the streaming track doesn’t exist in Tidal’s library, but I thought I would give you a heads up either way, as the metadata can be passed directly into Roon, and it can also be logged for later reference.
