Invalid Captcha

Today, on MS Edge and Firefox I get an InvalidreCaptcha when trying to log onto forum. Works on iOS Firefox, tho.

Did something drop off someone’s ToDo list, again?

Pop-up blocker, cookies blocked, and the like, just in Edge and Windows Firefox?

Hmm, I have popups blocked and a cookie deleter, but I’ve always had those. I’ll turn them off and see what happens.

Those are the only browsers I use.

I’ve had this problem before and it mysteriously vanished the next day or so.

Thanks for the reply.

I meant because you mentioned that it works on iOS Firefox, so the settings might differ. Could also be intermittent Google issues, who knows

Just to clean up loose ends, rebooting my router (without trying any other solutions) cleared up the problem. This emptied the cache. That would explain why, in the past, these captcha errors stopped after a day or two.

PITA. Roon’s forum seems, as yet, to be the only site susceptable to this error.

What with all this rCaptcha problems, I can no longer set up a new account on any site than uses Google’s Captcha system.

I get the following message -

Researching gives me the following -

“We use Google’s reCAPTCHA services to detect bots and keep our website safe. Unfortunately, Google will flag you as a potential bot and post a “reputation too low” error if you have multiple failed login attempts or use something like a VPN

I turned off my VPN, so it must be the multiple failed attempts on the Roon forum (the only place where Captcha comes back invalid). This all started happening after Roon went to it’s new logon security.

Following this advice didn’t help -

  1. Clear browser cookies and cache.
  2. Reboot machine
  3. Reboot router (that seemed to work once before)
  4. Log on to Google, which I successfully did

Google has black listed me because it thinks I’m a bot. I can’t clear the bloody thing.

It’s on my ‘permanent record’, so to speak

Nice going. How about it @danny?
