[Investigation] B1474 iOS: Crash when scrolling through My Albums by artist using the scroll thumb

iOS 18.1, iPhone 15 Pro Max. Reproduction:

  1. My Albums > Sort by Artist
  2. Drag to start scrolling, then touch and hold the scroll thumb and drag it down quite quickly from A to Z. When near Z, move back up and down a few times. Try smaller (Z-R-Z, for instance) and larger (Z-A-Z) movements.

→ Most of the time the app crashes. If it doesn’t, try some more dragging of the thumb

I’ve been able to make this happen on iPhones and iPads on production builds for as long as I’ve been using Roon. I just try not to do this

Hi, @Suedkiez, @DDPS, thank you for your posts. We will try to reproduce this one.

Hi, @Suedkiez, could you please do the following:

  1. Reproduce this issue once again
  2. Upload logs from your device here. This is how you can access Roon logs on iOS – link

Thanks!

I had to do more mixed long and short scrolling than I remember from last time, but I still can make it happen every time.

Did a quick glance at the logs but nothing that was obvious to me. I’m supposed to quit the app, toggle the log switch, then start the app, then reproduce, correct? It’s not quite clear to me from the description.

Thanks!

Not really, the sequence is the following:

  1. Reproduce the problem
  2. Toggle the switch in Settings
  3. Launch Roon Remote app
  4. Collect the logs

Thanks!

I see. FYI, the link gives this sequence:

iOS Logs

  1. First toggle “Save logs to Files on next startup” from your iOS Settings for the Roon App.
  2. Reproduce the issue.
  3. Access your Files App on the phone and upload the log file.

Hm, yep, I see, @Roon_Support_Team, can you take a look and adjust this one when you have a chance, please?

Thanks!
