iOS 26 update

Hi,

Since upgrading to iOS 26, which subsequently updates CarPlay, Roon ARC hasn’t been the same.

Pre iOS 26:

  • Get in car, car play fires up, RoonARC was my first app on home screen, went straight to that, straight to recently played, play favourite album… 3 clicks I’m playing music.

Since iOS 26:

  • Now the widget screen shows first so have to scroll, this is not Roon related but iOS… annoying nonetheless
  • Roons “Recently added” is down to one album
  • I now click on the album I want, it just pauses at the now playing screen, so have to click play again
  • The ARC just locks ups at the “loading screen”, so I’m driving, have to pull over, open it on my phone to close it, and then it works

Overall this update has been the worst, I’m now faffing about more than ever just to play some music, on short journeys I just give up.

Is there an impending update to RoonARC to sort these issues? It was all working so magically and now everything’s just flaky.

Lifetime member here, love Roon but these issues need sorting.

Heh, I don’t know if you’re talking about Roon or Apple. I would’ve stayed on the previous iOS but the phone I have now came on the new os.

iOS 26 is a buggy mess. Roon is not the only app affected by apple’s new os. As with all apple updates, you need to get a few iOS updates in before things get sorted usually.

You may try todays update.

One of my complains about ARC is CarPlay does not start playing automatically most of the times neither on old iOS or iOS 26, not sure after today’s update…
