I love Roon in every way but one - when controlling with iPad and wanting to switch to use another app, when I swipe up from the bottom to return to home screen, on 70% of occasions the track timeline is jolted to another position. Is there something simple I’m missing either in the Roon app or iPad app switching which would rescue me from this frustrating experience?
I don’t think you’re missing anything, unfortunately it’s down to developing a technique to minimise the roon app without touching the progress bar.
The position of the bar was moved a few builds ago which improved the situation but it’s still too close to the edge of the window imho.
You’re not missing anything, but you do have to start your swipe far enough down on the screen.
To avoid that issue, you should be able to still switch from left or right side of the switch bar, without messing with roon’s track position. You can also swipe up the menu bar and switch easily to last usesd apps.
Thanks, this is so obvious and shows how habitual gestures pass outside thought.
Even though this works, it’s been suggested that roon move over the whole playback to one side or the other. On iPad in landscape mode it’s hard to reach if holding from the sides. I prefer to using in vertical setting with new iPad mini.
