that works perfectly. I set it beside my listening seat within easy arm’s reach and set my iPad on it for totally convenient use of Roon. It’s plenty stable and will stay put with screen touches.

No. The iPad works well for me. The screen would be way to small on my iPhone.

a couple of options

  1. Heckler design makes some cool holders for the iPad (they focus on retail, but works for home also). I bought one for having around the music server. https://hecklerdesign.com/

I’ve been using Zugu cases for years…very comfortable. Earlier versions had “infinite” adjustments. Newer ones have “tracks” however I think they’re still more “adjustable” than the apple cases.
