Since I changed provider and even though I completely open the firewall I receive this message regarding IPv6 and I receive the following message: { "ipv6_connectivity": {"status":"NetworkError","status_code":504,"error":"error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined"}, "ipv4_connectivity": {"status":"NetworkError","status_code":504,"error":"error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined"}, "external_ip": {"actual_external_ip":"31.fff.ggg.hhh","actual_external_ipv6":"fe80:aaa:aaa:aaa:bbb:ccc:ddd:eee","router_external_ip":"null"}, "natpmp_autoconfig": {"status":"NotFound"}, "upnp_autoconfig": {"status":"NotFound"} }
@guimx in order for the community to help you, they will need specific information about your Internet connnectivity setup (your router, how it’s configured, method in which things are connected together in your network [ethernet/wireless/etc.])
An IPv6 address starting with fe80 is a link local ip address and is not usable from outside of your network. It appears that you do not have a working ipv6 Internet connection or configuration.
For ARC connectivity you need either or both of
An Ipv4 port forwarding rule configured either manually or automatically using upnp or natPmP
An IPv6 Internet connection with an IPv6 firewall pinhole to allow outside connections to you Roon Server’s public ipv6 address.
However, since your network is only configuring link local Ip addresses, you will not be able to get IPv6 working until you get a public IPv6 address assigned to the devices on your network. This could be a router mi’s-configuration or it could be that your ISP does not support IPv6.
To get Ipv4 ARC connectivity working, you need to configure port forwarding on your router. This can be done either by enabling uPnP on your router or by configuring a manual port forwarding rule on your router to forward TCP connections on the ARC port(as seen on the ARC settings page) to the Roon Server Ipv4 address (also shown on the ARC settings page and usually starting with 192.168).
Hi @guimx,
Thanks for writing in to let us know about this issue.Please try @Wade_Oram’s recommendations and let us know whether or not that fixes your issue. If it doesn’t we will activate diagnostics and conduct a more thorough investigation.
I have a router provided by the Swiss provider Sunrise, set to IPv6, in the configurations it is not possible to switch to IPv4. Even turning off the Firewall the message posted above appears, so it should not be a firewall problem.
