Is the Roon ARC app on Android refusing to update?

With the release of Roon 2.66, Roon ARC was supposed to be updated to 1.78. But Google Play still shows me that the latest version is 1.77.404 from April 16, 2026.
Who should I believe, and which version is actually the latest?

It hasn’t updated for me yet. Still on 1.77.404 here. Google Pixel 6 Android 16.

This happened with a previous update a couple of months ago. I think we’ll just have to wait.

In the meantime, ARC continues to work. Just not with the new features.

Interestingly, my Fairphone has updated to 1.78.408, when it normally is late in accepting the newest version.

It’s now May 19, Arc on Android in the Netherlands is still on 1.77 and there is no update visible or installable. Selecting Albums lead into a loop of “Try again”.

Hi, @ged_hickman1, the review process in the Play Store is taking a long time, in the past couple of weeks they have been even a bit slower than usual. We still have builds pending the review. I will post an update when they go accept the application. Thanks! – Ivan

It’s now three weeks since ARC 1.78 was released and still no sign of it on either of my devices here in the UK:

For me, 1.78 is not available in the play store. It is still offering 1.77.

Yes, I could download the APK and install it manually but that is not the point that I am making. And if did use the APK, then ARC would not automatically update in the future.

I think the 1.76 is a typo. I have been on 1.77 for three weeks, failed to update to 1.78 and now have 1.79.

Edit: I have been on 1.77 for much longer than three weeks. The three weeks was the time that I was on 1.77 but expecting an upgrade to 1.78.

It was a typo, apologies for confusion. ARC builds should be available to download from the Play Store.

The version 1.78 was stuck in a “forever queue” on Google PlayStore side, so we had to cancel it and move to version 1.79. This version has been reviewed in a matter of days.
