Would love the option to mark all posts read, makes it easier to watch what’s happening, or am I missing something obvious.

When I click on forum’s menu I see this… Typically when I connect after period of abstinence there is a number next to Unread (x) and New (x). I just click one of those to list the associated topics.
Does this help or do you not see these numbers?
If you are happy to, I would suggest clicking on the “Dismiss” and/or “Dismiss New” icons.
Then it displays a list like this, note the “New (5)” and “Unread(1)” and the “Dismiss New” icon.
When viewing a topic at the bottom of the page I also see this:
