Hi @Scott_G,

Thank you for your patience while we worked through the queue to reach your inquiry.

First off, who is your internet service provider? Do you have an additional router in your setup other than the Zyxel modem/router combination unit?

Since you’ve written a manual port forwarding rule, what happens if you try changing the port assignment to a new range? Roon ARC will usually attempt to autoconfigure in the 55000 range, and I assume your manual port forwarding rule matches that port assignment. I recommend trying something a few thousand up or down, in case your ISP has restricted certain ports.

The diagnostic you’ve posted indicates that UPnP, the service in the router that ARC uses to autoconfigure port forwarding, does not have access to the internet. You won’t need autoconfiguration if the manual rule works, but we can troubleshoot this as well. Usually, this diagnostic presents when:

  1. router firmware is out of date and barring access to UPnP
  2. you are inadvertently connected to a second router on your RoonServer machine than the upstream Zyxel router with the manual port forwarding rule
  3. There is a VPN or security feature restricting access to UPnP on either your RoonServer machine or router. Have you added Roon.exe as a firewall exception in Windows?

Let us know a little more and we’ll work from there.

It’s time to upgrade my router. I’m going to take that approach and try again. Thanks for the support.
