To be fair, giving up new clothes for 15 years for the audio gear you want is a no brainer …
I think that rather depends on the extent to which you gave up new clothes over the last 15/20/30 years in order to obtain the gear you already have!

I haven’t bought any new clothes since before I retired…21+ years ago. Well, maybe a new pair of tennis shoes.
