After many months of no problems with my previous supplier I joined connexin and as they don’t allow you to sort out port forwarding myself, I asked them to open port 55000.
They have told me they have done it but it still isn’t working. Here’s the information from Roon
I contacted the ISP and they said that port forwarding isn’t a service they allow customers to alter themselves as it can compromise the system or something!, that’s why they said they would sort it out at their end but it would appear they haven’t cracked it yet
Silly claim. A forwarded port is just basic traffic management. It depends on whether the system to which the port traffic is forwarded is safe and has proper authentication or not.
The same reasoning could be used to say that they don’t allow their customers to surf the web or to install software on their computers, because this can compromise the system just as much, if done wrongly.
