Perhaps there’s something about your setup that Roon doesn’t like.

I have piCore player on Pi4 feeds to Weiss DAC 501 using USB Streaming from Qobuz/Tidal. I listened to the song you posted, switched back and forth like half a dozen times, no difference.

@Lawrence_Nguyen Thank you for testing. Did you test PiCorePlayer on the RPi4 as a standalone device without any Roon? Because your screenshot shows still Roon Squeezebox support. That comparison did not show no difference here also.

My RPi4 with PiCorePlayer/LMS feeds to Chord Qutest DAC using USB streaming Qubuz and local.

Yes, I did. The screenshot just to prove that I actually testing Roon…in addition using Squeezelite alone. What I have not done is to stream from USB drive attaching to Pi. Earlier, I streamed local SMBwhen testing PiCore without Roon.
