T.Bells was Virgins first release and this was their 2nd.

They also signed T.D. in ‘74 and this was their first.

Mustn’t be in streaming.
I’m sure I’ve got it somewhere :relaxed:

Yeah nobody wanted to release Tubular Bells. Only Richard Branson was willing to give it a go as his first release for the brand new Virgin label.

Fun fact. Oldfield signed a contract for many albums. And in the end he was so tired of it that he actually sang on the last one. (Heaven’s Open album). And on the Amarok album he hid a morse code telling Richard Branson he could f… off.

Well, I do like it, especially since this version has a Live Incantations included. But, my fav is

Tubular Bells is too intertwined in my memory with the Exorcist.

I’ve never seen the exorcist
The triumvirate of TB, ommadawn and hergest ridge are my favourites.

I have nearly all his albums at home

Mike Oldfield, Jean-Michel Jarre and Vangelis have been my favorite musicians since my early teens. So that’s over 30 years now :slightly_smiling_face:
