Let's talk about what's Moving and Grooving you today [2023-07]

I had that running as well with my wife’s vinyl there for speed.

I want to  your port and got this message :pensive:

While there’s kit talk in progress, has anyone had experience of buying a license for Win11 where you receive a download link followed by an activation code?
I’m about to build a PC and found the above for £25 which sounds to good to be true. The following online retailer also has office and other “stuff” at what appears very keen pricing…

I stopped copying last night so starting again tonight. Then I’ll decide on new server or not.
The Deco is very good, much faster than the previous. Also has three ethernet ports on the back of each unit so can wire up local stuff.

I thought the old Roon core was failing.
Did you manage to get it up and running again?

The Ethernet ports are very cool and I use them for Roon Endpoints and get a consistent 300Mb a second between APs which is great going for music and watching 4k content in another room

Didn’t like this album when it first came out but like a couple of the songs a lot.

I replaced the m2 SSD and it sprang to life. Before the music HD failed.
I suspect I had a double intermittent failure so it was hard to diagnose.
Will see.

I must have missed that while away.
But good news and gives you options :+1:

I know of other people who have and said it works but I have never needed to.
I have always been personally dubious

Just on train back. Short but very sweet gig, Shame the sound system couldn’t cope with the reverb so well on some tracks. But they still sounded fab, Alasdair’s voice is just superb, they mixed up with a few oldies but mostly new. They ended with my favourite from last album which happens to be the albums close The Age of Miracles.

It certainly looks “iffy” but if they are reliable the savings are very good, there’s just no physical media which may go some way to explaining the price differential.

Windows website = £219.99
PC parts supplier = £153.00
“3rd party” Software download = £25

Potentially a good saving…

Yes I think it skates the OEM rules where you should buy some hardware.

You can download an ISO from Microsoft and just install it and if you have a license on another device using a Microsoft account it just activates in my experience (and I have done a few).

One of my colleagues used one of these websites a couple of weeks ago for a friend and all went smoothly.
Not sure what one it was though sorry

I purchased a Windows 10 Pro USB pen drive and key in official MS packaging from EBay for £30.00 a few months ago.

I’d take that approach to activate Windows installed from an official download. It’ll run fine while you wait for delivery (with a few restrictions on the desktop), and upgrade to Windows 11 for free.

Thanks Mike, I’ll give it a go, the worst that can happen is i lose £25 :crossed_fingers:t2:

Thanks Martin, that may be a better alternative :+1:t4:
